Canasta Game Rules


 

ACES CUT:
SET TABLES 2/2/1 - Rated: In this tourney you must have aces in your initial meld of each hand meaning aces must be the 1st thing melded. You may pick up the pile in the same turn as melding aces but must play them as your meld to pick up the pile not after. (You can pick up the pile on any card as long as the As go down aat the same time). After you have melded with aces, game continues as reg cut nasta so you only need 1 canasta to go out. If you cannot meld aces you must hold your cards. If your initial meld does not include aces, it will result in disqualification from the tourney. 

ACES TO MELD
Set Tables 2/2/2 - Rated - This special tourney has 1 special rule. You MUST meld with Aces(you can use wilds and you can pick up the pile as long as you meld Aces with your meld at the same time)NO aces NO meld..have fun

6'S OR 9'S THE REST IS REGULAR PLAY..

BACKWARDS CANASTA:
SET TABLES 2/2/1 - UNRATED: The object of this game is to lose. u may take the pile, do whatever u want but the LOSER WINS!  FIRST ONE TO -5000 WINS!

Beat the 3s:
Make tables 2/2/2 singles or 4/2/2 doubles - Rated - you may pick up the pile and make as many cans as you want HOWEVER, ONCE A RED 3 IS OUT YOU MAY NOT MAKE ANY MORE CANASTAS THAT HAND

Beat the 3s Cut:
Make tables 2/2/1 singles or 4/2/1 doubles - Rated - You may pick up the pile and make as many cans as you want HOWEVER, ONCE A RED 3 IS OUT YOU MAY NOT MAKE ANY MORE CANASTAS THAT HAND 

Black Hole:
TABLE SET 2/2/2 - Rated - You can only make black cansatas. You can't use black threes unless you go out. REMEBER: don't throw black threes or make red canstas or it will result in dq. ONLY BLACK CANASTAS CAN BE MADE!!!! YOU CANNOT DISCARD A BLACK 3 TO GO OUT, YOU CAN ONLY MELD BLACK 3’S TO GO OUT. 

BLACKJACK:
Set tables 2/2/2 - Rated - In this tourney black jacks freeze the pile. You may not pick up a black jack from the pile at any time. You must have a black canasta in jacks in order to go out. If a canasta of jacks is made red, you may not go out that hand. If you pick up a black jack or go out without a black canasta of jacks, you will automatically be disqualified. 

BLACKJACK CUT:
Set tables 2/2/1 - Rated - In this tourney black jacks freeze the pile. You may not pick up a black jack from the pile at any time. You must have a black canasta in jacks in order to go out. If a canasta of jacks is made red, it will not count and you will not be able to go out. In the cut version of this game you may go out with only the canasta in black jacks if you choose. If you pick up a black jack or go out without a black canasta of jacks, you will automatically be disqualified. 

Bloody Cut :
Tables set for 2/2/1 - Rated - Your first canasta MUST be red, you only need 1 anasta to go out. You can make as many black canastas as you wish but only after red is made first. REMEBER: MAKE THE RED CANASTA FIRST!!! 

BOOKENDS
Set Tables 2/2/2 - Rated - You have to meld 4's and Ace's FIRST (do not make them Into canasta's EVER them must stay melded on the board) LIKE BOOKENDS you can't meld or canasta any other cards untIl you've got your 4's and Ace's melded fIrst. You must meld your 4's and Ace's at the same time and no other cards may be melded or any canastas made until your next turn.The rest is played as Reg Canasta. 

CANASTA BINGO
Set Tables 2/2/2 - Rated - You must have 3 in a row (vertically or horizontally) before you make any canasta's. Example: 4, 5, 6 or 4, 8, Q ETC. If you make a Canasta before you have your 3 in a row you will be DQ'ed. You may take the pile at any time but remember no canasta's until you have your 3 in a row. 

CANASTA BY MELD:
Tables are 2/2/1 - Rated - If you have to meld 50 you only need 1 canasta to go out, 90 meld 2 canasta's to go out, 120 meld 3 canasta's to go out. Everything else is reg. 

CANASTA ROUNDS
Set Tables 2/2/1 - Rated - This is a Progressive rounds, canasta game based on the number of rounds. This means the more rounds you play, the more canastas you need to go out. The following chart summarizes it.
RND 1** , you need 1 nasta to go out
RND 2** , you need 2 nastas to go out
RND 3** , you need 3 nastas to go out
RND 4** , you need 4 nastas to go out
RND 5** , you need 5 nastas to go out
RND 6** , you need 6 nastas to go out

 
CARD UP
Set Tables 2/2/1 - Rated - At the beginning of each hand, the top card up on the discard pile will determine how many canasta's both players need to go out. If the top card up is red, you both need 1 canasta to go out. If the top card up is black, you both need 3 canasta's to go out.The top cards MUST be called at the table by BOTH players BEFORE a play is made and the call must match. If the call does not match and a play is made, the player who made the play will be DQ’d. 

CARNIVAL RIDE
Set Tables 2/2/1 - Rated - First hand is played as NoNo (No touching pile and No going out) then the Second hand is played as NTC (No touching pile but can go out with 1 canasta). You keep alternating between the two games each hand till game is over. 

CARNIVAL RIDE TAG TEAM
Set Tables 2/2/1 - Unrated - In this tournament you sign in as doubles with a partner. Player 1 plays NoNo (no touching pile and no going out), then you tag your partner to play the next hand and they play NTC (no touching pile but can go out with 1 canasta). When your partner is done playing that hand, they stand up and give you the seat back. 

CHANGEUP:
Set Tables 2/2/2 singles or 4/22 doubles - Rated - In this tourney the rule changes after each hand. When a hand is over play must stop and the TD notified. The TD will then choose what rule applies to the next hand. If current rule is not followed or if play is not stopped between hands this will result in disqualification from the tourney. 
 
CHEATERS DOUBLES
SET TABLES 4/2/2 UNRATED: THIS GAME IS JUST
WHAT IT SAYS. YOU MAY TALK TO YOUR PARTNER
IN  iNSTANT MESSAGER ABOUT EACH OTHERS CARDS, EVERTHING ELSE IS NORMAL PLAY.
MAY THE BEST CHEATERS WIN!!!!!

CHERRY
Set Tables 2/2/2 - Rated - Regular Canasta... But before click START you must nominate your canasta.Make that nominated canasta in RED and you win!!If you nominate 7’s and you make a red canasta in 7’s anytime during the game, you win the game! Each opponent makes their own nomination 

CODE RED:
Tables are 2/2/2 - Rated - No freezing the pile & you can only pick up the pile AFTER you make a red canasta. (This means make a red canasta one turn and you may pick up the pile on your next turn.) You may make black canastas and you may go out anytime. 

COLUMN CUT:
Tables are 2/2/1 - Rated - The card turned up (each hand) decides which column your first canasta must be made in. First column = black 3,4,5,6 Second column = 7,8,9,10 Third column = J,Q,K,A. One canasta to go out. Everything else is reg. Please type what the first card turned up was. If first card was a Joker or 2 the next card is used to choose column. 

CONFUSION
Set Tables 2/2/2 - Rated - 1st hand is No Touch. 2nd hand is No Out. 3rd hand is No No. 4th hand and more is Regular 

CRACKED MIRROR:
SET TABLES 2/2/2 - Rated - In this tourney you cannot meld or canasta what your opponent has melded or canastad. If your opponent melds 6s you cant meld or canasta 6s. If your opponent has a canasta in 7s you may not meld or canasta 7s. Etc.. If you meld or canasta what your opponent has it results in a disqualification from the tourney. You may pick up the pile and you may go out anytime. 

CRACKED MIRROR CUT:
SET TABLES 2/2/1 - Rated - In this tourney you can not meld or canasta what your opponent has melded or canastad. If your opponent melds 6s you cant meld or canasta 6s. If your opponent has a canasta in 7s you may not meld or canasta 7s. You only have to have 1 canasta to go out. Etc.. If you meld or canasta what your opponent has it results in a disqualification from the tourney. You may pick up the pile and you may go out anytime. <
 
CRAZY TOURNEY:
A Crazy tourney consists of a variation of canasta games chosen by the td. 

CRAZY Red 3s:
Make tables 2/2/2 singles or 4/2/2 doubles - Rated - In this tourney you may NOT pick up the discard pile or go out until ALL the red 3s are in play. If a red 3 is in the discard pile it is counted as being in play. Please notify the td at your table if there is a red 3 in the discard pile before beginning play. You are allowed to meld at any time. After all the red 3s are out regular rules of the current game may begin. 

CRAZY Red 3s CUT:
Make tables 2/2/1 singles or 4/2/1 doubles - Rated - In this tourney you may NOT pick up the discard pile or go out until ALL the red 3s are in play. If a red 3 is in the discard pile it is counted as being in play. Please notify the td at your table if there is a red 3 in the discard pile before beginning play. The Td should call seeing the red 3 in the pile before play is continued. You are allowed to meld at any time. After all the red 3s are out, regular cut rules apply, only 1 canasta is needed to go out. If you are playing this rule as doubles, no table talk about the red 3s (example: ndp or nice 3333s p) is allowed. If the pile is picked up, a player goes out before all the red 3s are out, or a pile with a 3 in it is picked up and the td has not called it, you will be disqualified from the tourney. 

CRAZY 8s:
SET TABLES 2/2/2 singles or 4/2/2 doubles - Rated - In this tourney if an 8 is thrown on the pile, you may not pick the pile up. This does not mean pile is frozen, ya only cant pick pile up for that turn if the 8 is on top of discard pile. 8's can be melded and canastad only if youre are going out. At anytime ya make a melded or canasta'd 8's you must go out completely. 

CRAZY 8s CUT:
SET TABLES 2/2/1 singles or 4/2/1 doubles - Rated -In this tourney if an 8 is thrown on the pile, you may not pick the pile up. This does not mean pile is frozen, ya only cant pick pile up for that turn if the 8 is on top of discard pile. 8's can be melded and canastad only if youre are going out. At anytime ya make a melded or canasta'd 8's you must go out completely. 

Criss Cross:
Table 2/2/2 - Rated - When your opp throws away an EVEN card you must throw away an ODD card and vice versa. ODD = 5 7 9 J K and EVEN = 4 6 8 10 Q. Both may throw away the aces, black 3s and wilds. If opp throws an ace, wild or black3 you may throw whatever you like that turn. If your not able to throw the asked card (odd/even/neutral) then you are not allowed to make anymore canastas for that hand.Rest is regular.
